Play LO

This was done during busy time of the day when my kids are out playing with their cousins in my mom’s place. So I hide myself in the scraproom and finished this LO by running in and out of the room just to make sure that they didn’t get into a big fight with other small kids. Well.. I’m lucky to have my sisters around to look after them.

PhotobucketJornaling: Hard to see this scene 10 years down the road. Simple play in grandma’s home with sand and water, just add imagination.
The round embellishment are actually cut out from American Craft pattern paper, fastern by star brads. The border are from the boy theme kit of Hot off the press.

Aunt Li Szu

We all had friends in our lifes, friends who can read our mind, friends who stay close no matter what, friends who last a life time. I’m glad that I have such friends in my life. Eventhough we have been leaving in different countries, eventhough we only see once in a year or even longer than that. One of them is Li Szu, who were my highschool classmate. We still keep intouch, still wirte emails to each other once in awhile. And the good news is, she is coming back this week! I don’t have many photos of her, but one that I’ve and I treat it dearly is one that taken years back with my DS. I’ve thought about that photo and have scrap it together using the same layout for my Grandpa. Again, these layouts are from Susan Cobb in Hot off the Press. Thanks Susan.

Here is for Li Szu:

Jornaling:
The hat is from Aunt Li Szu who came back for visit. It fit you nicely and has been into the collection and passed on to Mervin.
Aunt Li Szu is a classmate of mommy in Tshung Tsin Secondary School, a dear friend even until these days.
At that time, Calvin just learning to walk and were taking his first few steps and trying to balance himself with a toy car in his hand.

My grandpa

Grandpa is a person who tried out new things, who foresee things way before us all, even in the global issue. He loves reading, gardening, herbs and the politics. He tells great stories about WWII. One thing he told us that he never stop doing is reading. Maybe that’s why in his late 90s, he is still strong and has a clear mind. He is an adventurous person; he tried out herbal medicine himself. Doctors were surprise to see him when we brought him over, they just couldn’t believe their eyes that they are looking at a 99 year old standing there in front of them, with a well build body and in good posture some more. He is a man who loves God, who is witty and humorous. He past away on 30 August 2006, a day before our National Day. I was still in China with mom and my family. I took my unpaid leave to spend some times with my hubby and our two boys. Though we had expected it, but it was still a shock for us to learn that he has past away, in fact, peacefully. Thank God. He passed away at the age of 99. We had started to plan for his 100th birthday celebration the year after; unfortunately, God’s call is faster than we thought. Here is to my grandpa, i.e. Cal’s Great-grandpa.
Great-grandpa
This layout is by Susan Cobb of Hot off the press personal shopper. I used everything from the January kit of theirs. Thank you Susan.Journaling: “Great-grandpa who loves gardening and had maintain an nursery in front of the house. He did all the planting, watering and introducing his produce to whomever came to visit. This is a rare picture of him with Calvin at age 2. Calvin like usual, loves to join in the gardening part even though he’ll be beaten by the mosquito. This sort of photo will not ever be seen again ever since great-grandpa passed away.

Love layout and last year Christmas photos

As I was going throuh my photos from last year visit to Hong Kong and China, I discovered that I’ve so many photos to scrap about, especially on Disneyland. Gonna show some in my other blog – Glad to be here.

I’ll post up my LO here instead. 😉

So, people, Valentines day is near, get in the mood for love and check out those layout in Itti Bitty Scrap Shack challenge, some are available in the following blogs!!

Photobucket

At the mean time, I’m getting ready for the Chinese New Year celebration. Gong Xi Fa Cai!!

I’ve got them uploaded!

Yay!! I’ve finally got my phone to work again, I mean in loading photos into my PC. So I can show my LO here again.. yippiee!! I’ve also sent in my LO for Get in the mood for love challenge in Itty Bitty Scrap Shack, can’t be happier than this. Another happy news is that I’ve just got my order from Scrap-n-Crop, though a bit bended on the papers, but overall they are in good condition and I just can’t wait to use them, especially the Bazzill itty Bitty Blossoms and American Craft play and sixth avenue pattern papers.

Now let me show what I’ve sent in for Itty Bitty’s Challenge.
The love of my life.. other than my hubby .. of course are my two boys! And since I don’t have any recent photos of my hubby and I hardly can find hubby’s solo photo.. I might as well snap photos of my boys and do this LO. So I did and fortunately when I wanted to develop the photos which was taken using my phone, it allows me to upload files. Thank God.
So, here it is..

Jornaling:

The love of my life –
Cal and Mer.
2 years apart and yet so much different on their characters and physical built.
Calvin is much taller and active.
Mervin seems like getting his dad’s height. But boys will be
boys, naughty and active as always, still…
Both are sweet in my eyes and precious in my heart.

I’ve used the swirl template from Hot off the press which came in together in the January Personal Shopper kit. The paper flower embelishement are actually free paper-piecing pattern from Scrapbook.etc. Black and white flowers are from Prima Got Flowers, round mini brads are from HOTP too, and finally the white heart shape brad is from Queen & Co. Oh.. and the alphabet stickers, they are from a dear friend who came back for visit from Aussie.. you know who you are.. 😉

Thanks for watching.

Ribbon will not fray if…

Yupe.. I’ve a little tips here.. share without any photo.. too bad 😦
I use ribbons in my scrapbook projects and I always here people said you’ll need to either wrap it around the corner of the photos or the page in order not to let it fray, or another way is to cut it slightly angled.
Well.. I have a little tips for having the ribbon and not fray, so you can actually cut it straight and just adhere it anywhere you want. You ready?
Here goes.. all you need to do is to burn it a little bit, or should I say melt it a little bit on the end by using lighter. Yupe, once the ribbon is melted, they will stick together and not fray.. that simple, try it.
Happy scrapbooking!

No photo can be uploaded again

I’m so sad.. I’ve done some pages and yet I can’t show them here. My phone is not cooperating with me again. I’ve actually done a two page layout of Cal having his first flight to Sri Lanka years ago. I was even more worried than him. Afraid that he’ll cry all along the journey, disturbing other passengers on board, run away from my sight.. etc.. just like a normal mom would worried over their kids on a long distance journey, if you know what I mean.
However, despite all these worries that I had in mind, we went through the flight in a bliss.. well.. not totally a bliss, but at least he didn’t cry, at least he didn’t complaint about air pressure in his ear, at least we made it through and landed in Sri Lanka safely. oh.. you might be asking why Sri Lanka. Well.. simply because hubby used to work there before and we went over to visit him.

As for last night, I’ve started scrap lift a layout from scrapbook.etc on paper piercing, will use this for the Itty Bitty Scrap Shack challenge for “Love of my life”. I wanted so much to show them here, a preview maybe.. just too bad.. I hope the crazy phone is back to normal working mode again for me to upload my photo. I really need a new digicam.

Good news is, by Friday, I’ll have the digicam with me again… yay!!

Want to use these photos

I’ve just loaded some old photos from my phone to my PC, so I discovered some cute photos, although they are not so clear, but I love them and I haven’t scrap about them yet, so maybe I’ll use them for my next project.
As for my previous project that I’ve set out to do, i.e. to transfer all my Australian trip photos from the magnetic album to photo safe album, which I’ve just finished last night, double yay for that. Since I’m using Creative Memories album with black pages, I kind of limiting myself for using pattern paper as the background and also limiting myself to use too much of embellishment which will bulge the page, so that was a fast project to finish. Well.. I was kind of lazy too as I’ve already arrange that album in my magnetic before.. so nothing new. Will show some snapshot here in my future posting.
As for now.. let me show you those photos that I would really love to scrap.

Wish me luck

Scrapbook challenges

cScrapbooking challenges are fun. Before this, I thought to myself, well.. I’m not even a pro in doing scrapbooking yet.. why want to join in any challenges. When I first found out about what really are challenges in scrabook.etc magazine on my pool fun LO, to my surprise, I love it once I’m into it. It actually give me a guide on what I should use or do in my page in order to join in the fun.
Sometimes I just can’t start a page without some limitation.. the creativity part is just too wide especially when coming down to choosing my pattern papers and the most basic one – Layout, what scrappers call LO. So if there is some guidelines or I call it limitation that set out in the challenge, it would help me to start thinking on that line, also start to be creative on that line too. The fun part is to share with others my work and get lots of comments from people. I did it in scrapbook.com, which is really a nice place to be with all those that having the same interest with me. Another site that I love to check out is ScrapScene which updated me with all the latest things that is happening in the scrapping world.
Just recently, Itty bitty Scrap Shack is holding a challenge on “Get in the mood for love!“.

Got this from their site:

Ya.. go ahead and have some fun, I surely am joining this even it I can’t .. I’m going to do this challenge for my LO.

The LO that my sister loves

I haven’t got any photo of my son on his first day at school, the only one that I have so far is taken by my sister when Cal is over in her house after school. Where were I? Well… I went off to fetch my 2nd son from school and guess what.. during that time, they had a great time, I mean Cal and his cousin, they had shower fun! They can’t do it in my mom’s place ‘cos we don’t have a shower head, they always had a bath but we still call it shower anyway – one that without the head.
When Cal and Rod is having a good time in the shower room, obviously taking longer than they should with all those splash of water, my sis grab her digicam and snap them. Not many that she took though, her reason is she doesn’t wanna take the whole body, and since the room is small, she’ll have to use her untrained photo skills to take these gorgeous photos.
So, I’ve scrap it..
Love to see their expressions in these photos, really show how much they enjoy the shower. I wish my sis got more photos on this. Now it is being displayed in my scrap area, just feel that I should show it off and enjoy it first before I put it into my album.
This is actually done at the back of “3 rascals”. So I can’t poke any hole in this LO too, all embellishments are being attached with zots and glue.
