Sweet 16

Did a page that has been long overdue.. well.. no due date actually.. but the photos have sat in my closet for a month after I’ve crop them. They are my niece’s 16th birthday pictures. She keep on complaining that she doesn’t like those photos and said that they are so ugly (I hope she doesn’t mean herself, ‘cos she is lack of confident on her look), well.. to me, they are precious, ‘cos you’ll never get a 2nd sweet 16 again, so no matter how bad the photos have been taken, they are still part of the memory.
I’ve used lots of different flowers for this page, I thought to myself since I may not have lots of other chances to use those flowers that I bought from Prima, they are in black, grey and white. I’ve used flower from Heidi and mini flower brads from Making Memories. Love to use all those pretty flower and they are pretty easy to lighten up a plain page.
Another thought was that I’m thinking to submit this page for the “We love flower” challenge in srapbook.com. Will see if I can make another page that I like more.
I didn’t poke any hole in this page too, I used zots to adhere all flowers which already got brads on.
Since the page colour is greyish, I tried something new, I used white gel pen to do the journalling, but it still doesn’t pop up.. so I’ve to layer my writing. I’ve cut up some pattern paper and stick up as the line for my journalling. Got this idea from one of the challenge in scrapbook magazine.
Since I don’t wanna poke any hole in the paper, so using flower embellishment is a good way to hide away the zot and it secure my ribbon even more.
So here it is.. happy belated birthday, Qin..
Photo shooting technique of this page is not so right ‘cos the page tilted.. I miss the digicam

More LO

Done a page last nite from a photo taken just last weekend in my in-law’s. Photo taken by my sis-in-law who were trying out her digicam.

This LO is inspired by a member in Two Peas.
I’ve used all American Craft paper again.. and also Apricot Bazzil Cardstock bought from SoCalScrap, those that were offer 😀 (USD.44 each)
I just love those American Craft papers that I bought from TwoPeas. The stars are just very nice to make boy’s page. Oh and the vinyl too.. they are just so fun to just stick up as title.

I haven’t pun any journaling in yet.. Just don’t wanna spoil the page with wrong words..

My Scraproom

This morning my handphone is coordinating with me, it lets me upload photos into my PC.. buoy it was so hard to get it work huh… I wonder what is wrong with it..
anyway, I just wanna show some pictures of the scraproom that I have been talking about. Don’t expect very nice picture with nice decoration of the whole room, it is just a table that I’m working on, so basically nothing much to show.. but I’m excited cos I can treat that room as my own scraproom!! 😀
Just remember, it is a very old house (more than 30 year), so don’t expect to see cement wall here.. 😀

You can see my Creative Memories cutter (the blue one) and also CM’s album which is being open up. The other colourful album is my magnetic album which I need to pull out all the photos from. I kept all my ribbons inside the little food container stack up at the back there. Maybe I’ll move my ribbons into a box later..
Here is another photo showing the little box that I got from Signature which is meant for putting medicine, I’ve used it to put all my little brads.

What is not showing here are those papers that I’ve, not many so far, not even an inch thick. Another things is the cutting made (covered by the CM album).
Those are my little things that I’m having now.. hope to build up the collection especially stamps.

My phone’s camera

Yay! I finally can show some photos here by using my hand phone. After I’ve been using the digital camera, I’ve totally forgotten that my phone also got that function. So here it goes.
I’ve taken some photos of my newly made scrapbooking pages and hoping that my phone has no problem in connecting to my PC.
I’ve done two pages which used old photos of the two boys.

Ribbon is from Paperwishes monthly kit. The tags embellishment are also from paperwishes.

When doing this page, I just wanted the pattern paper to point at the photo that I like most, that’s why I position it this way, and since I’ve got my corner rounder which can do scallop edges, so I used it and also later punched holes using the eyelet setter set from making memories.

The photos shown here are actually years ago when Cal’s cousin came back for a visit during Chinese New Year. That two boys actually weren’t talking in the same language, one in Mandarin and the other in Cantonese, yet they play together with no problem at all!

Another page which I just did it last Sunday. When I look at the photo at first, I only saw the ugly things in the picture, that bathroom, so old and look so dirty. So I’ve been keeping this photo for quite some times, not sure that if I’ll really scrap it. But now, it is different, I saw his lighted up face who really enjoyed his bath that time, so doesn’t matter where or how old the place is, kids’ joy are just pure and simple.

The wording is actually vinyl from American Craft. Love it cos it is a bit thick but not so. The star is from pattern paper also from American Craft. All the other papers are brought from two peas shop.

Scrapping again

Yay! I’ve started using my Creative Memories album with all the black refill pages that I’ve bought from Sandra, plus the free gift that I got from her (pack of pattern papers with mating papers) It is actually a bliss if I don’t need to think about embellishment which CM doesn’t encourage as they will bulge the page and also tend the photos. But.. hehe.. I still use them.. OK, a bit only la.. oh well.. I used la.. like silk flowers, brads and ribbons. I just can’t do without them in my page, they seems so plain and empty to me, so I gotta get ready my eyelet setter, hole puncher, zots and craft knife.

Initially I was regretting in getting all black pages instead of the normal or white pages.. but it turns out that I just love them.. black let my photos pop out even more.. just as long as my photos are not too dark, even if that is it, I can always use some colourful pattern paper or matting paper behind. I also start cutting out holes right behind the photos mating area to save some papers for pattern that I might just be doing later on.

I wish I can show u some photos here.. well.. unfortunately I don’t have my digital camera now.. :((

I’m so happy that I’m able to start transferring my Australian trip photos from magnetic album to CM’s album, and yet this sister of mine still questioning on why I should do that even though I’ve answered her questions several times, and yet she’s still pity over those magnetic album. OK, you can keep them if you want, but don’t say I didn’t warn you what sort of damaging effect they’ll do to your photos.

Scrapbook over the weekend

Done some pages over the weekend. Almost all using the papers supplied by Scrapbook Delight. Wanna show Jazz here on what I’ve done on those pages that I’ve ordered.

I’ve used the photo frame overlay and ribbon which came together with the gift – My Mind’s Eye Kit. I made the tag by copying the phrase from another sticker pack, and I wrote some swirling at the bottom. Tied a ribbon and adhere with small zot.

I love the swirl on the pattern paper and tried not to hide it with photo, that’s why I can only fit in two 4R size photos. The one with overlay frame is actually being trimmed so that the swirl on the frame is showing. I fix the frame corner with copper round brads and adhere to the pattern paper. The photo below is being matted with green and then white cardstock.

As for this one, I copied the layout from Simple Scrapbook Magazine Nov/Dec issue’s winner for their challenge that month. It was a challenge which need to include the following things:

  1. Put title on the photo
  2. Journal in between pattern paper
  3. Draw on the border

I’ve copied the winner’s layout but changed the pattern paper to ribbon instead. This is the first time that I’ve used many brads on my LO, they are all in all 30 different brads here. Love this LO, it is so easy to do.

1st birthday pages for Cal

For those of you.. (like there is any..hahaha.. no no no.. I’m referring to myself actually :D) who is waiting to see my finished page on Cal’s first birthday, here they go..

I’ve journal around the photos on both pages, add the alphabet B and number 1 cut from cardstock. Put a few brads and ribbon on them. Punch 8 red eyelets on the corner of the middle photo and weave ribbon through them. Journal on computer and printed out on the cardstock, cut and inked them.
Had enjoyed doing the pages.. Sorry that they are a bit blurry and dark cos I took them at night.. should have taken them on broad daylight.

New stuff in my mail box

Just got my scrapbooking material from scrapbook delight in Brunei. This is their first time shipping outside of Brunei and being the first client of their, I get special treatment of course 😀
I’m still excited for having all those papers from Dream Street, they are thick and the design are adorable. In a way, it is also giving a time to crack my head to do new layout, one is to preserve the beautiful design on the page and another is try to fit in all my photos into the layout. And guess what? I just did it.. well.. almost done two pages of layout about my son’s first birthday using D.St papers, which I scraplift it from Simple Scrapbooks Magazine (Nov/Dec). I’ve fit in 9 little 2.5″ square photos on one page, and another page with 3 coaster size photos and one little photos which I’ve matted into coaster size in another page. I just love the swirl on the passion fruit design paper of D.St, so I’ve trim out some of the initially would be covered swirl and let them show on top of my photos. I’ve accented two photos of me and my DS with square brads.
I use Heidi Swapp big flowers and Kellly Panacci Sandylion flower stickers as the embellishment. Now what I will do maybe is some doodle and use more flower stickers. Another thing left is the journalling.
Let you have a sneak preview of what I’ve done and once I’ve finished the two pages, surely gonna post them up.

Boys

I’m so happy with what I’ve done using left over pages from paperwishes personal shopper kit, I used them to matt my photos and this pattern paper is suppose to be the matt in another page disign shown in their monthly kit. I’ve used making memories brads that my friend bought for me from Target. I’ve used the paperwishes pastel monogram alphabets for the title, layout altered from scrapbook.etc, tag from collected memories, anywhere puncher from making memories to make a hole on the tag, craft sticks and pen. And also with a bit of doodling on the alphabet to make them stand out.

I was just too excited in getting all my new things last nite that I burnt my mid-nite oil in doing the page, ‘cos I’ll have to wait till the boys are sleeping then can only starts to have fun on scrapbooking.

more materials for scrapbooking

Yay! I’ve got all those stuff that I’ve ordered previously from collected memories and only today that I get to see and hold them in my hands. Yupe, they are all here, thanks to my friend who just came back from Kansas, US. A treat from me is a definite thing, I’m so gladful for that. For all the trouble in carrying them through several check-in counters and miles of walking to the right terminals.
It’s gonna be fun for me over the weekend, oh.. maybe I’ll start using them tonight.
