Scrapbook over the weekend

Done some pages over the weekend. Almost all using the papers supplied by Scrapbook Delight. Wanna show Jazz here on what I’ve done on those pages that I’ve ordered.

I’ve used the photo frame overlay and ribbon which came together with the gift – My Mind’s Eye Kit. I made the tag by copying the phrase from another sticker pack, and I wrote some swirling at the bottom. Tied a ribbon and adhere with small zot.

I love the swirl on the pattern paper and tried not to hide it with photo, that’s why I can only fit in two 4R size photos. The one with overlay frame is actually being trimmed so that the swirl on the frame is showing. I fix the frame corner with copper round brads and adhere to the pattern paper. The photo below is being matted with green and then white cardstock.

As for this one, I copied the layout from Simple Scrapbook Magazine Nov/Dec issue’s winner for their challenge that month. It was a challenge which need to include the following things:

  1. Put title on the photo
  2. Journal in between pattern paper
  3. Draw on the border

I’ve copied the winner’s layout but changed the pattern paper to ribbon instead. This is the first time that I’ve used many brads on my LO, they are all in all 30 different brads here. Love this LO, it is so easy to do.

Scrap room?

I don’t have a specific room or space for scrapbooking. I normally would use the space outside of the living room, we call it the front area of the house, it is not exactly is a porch, it is just the front area. Other than that, it will have to be the kitchen table. Doing scrapbook over the weekend is the best time of the day, that is when I can sit down, look at my photos, examine what I have or what I can use for the page then start my hobby. It is normally more productive or creative during that time. You would be surprise to see what is infront of me.. it looks like a jungle to certain people πŸ˜‰

Yes, that is a papaya tree. Does it look like a jungle to you?

Veranda decoration

Do you have a veranda? One is with a little view? One that is just outside of your room? Even if it is upstairs, do you have it? It is actually a space that you can do lots of decoration in it with pots of flowers, so you can have your quiet time there everyday. Small space like a 3 x 1 metre corridor would do the trick already. You’ll just need small high chairs, some narrow shelves for the plants and some creativity on the color scheme.
If it is cement floor, you can change it into wooden floor and add some pepples to make it more welcoming and thus use wood for the rest of the decoration. You can make full use of the space on the wall by adding more shelves or simply hangs the plants from the ceiling down. You can hang pots sraight from the ceiling in the middle part too, this is especially suitable for those plants that are drap style. Oh ya.. and you don’t need big potted plants as it use up too much space unless you have the space for them, little pots with little plants are good enough.
The sad thing is.. I don’t have a veranda, but I’ve the whole front garden to decorate πŸ˜€

1st birthday pages for Cal

For those of you.. (like there is any..hahaha.. no no no.. I’m referring to myself actually :D) who is waiting to see my finished page on Cal’s first birthday, here they go..

I’ve journal around the photos on both pages, add the alphabet B and number 1 cut from cardstock. Put a few brads and ribbon on them. Punch 8 red eyelets on the corner of the middle photo and weave ribbon through them. Journal on computer and printed out on the cardstock, cut and inked them.
Had enjoyed doing the pages.. Sorry that they are a bit blurry and dark cos I took them at night.. should have taken them on broad daylight.

New stuff in my mail box

Just got my scrapbooking material from scrapbook delight in Brunei. This is their first time shipping outside of Brunei and being the first client of their, I get special treatment of course πŸ˜€
I’m still excited for having all those papers from Dream Street, they are thick and the design are adorable. In a way, it is also giving a time to crack my head to do new layout, one is to preserve the beautiful design on the page and another is try to fit in all my photos into the layout. And guess what? I just did it.. well.. almost done two pages of layout about my son’s first birthday using D.St papers, which I scraplift it from Simple Scrapbooks Magazine (Nov/Dec). I’ve fit in 9 little 2.5″ square photos on one page, and another page with 3 coaster size photos and one little photos which I’ve matted into coaster size in another page. I just love the swirl on the passion fruit design paper of D.St, so I’ve trim out some of the initially would be covered swirl and let them show on top of my photos. I’ve accented two photos of me and my DS with square brads.
I use Heidi Swapp big flowers and Kellly Panacci Sandylion flower stickers as the embellishment. Now what I will do maybe is some doodle and use more flower stickers. Another thing left is the journalling.
Let you have a sneak preview of what I’ve done and once I’ve finished the two pages, surely gonna post them up.

productive weekend

It has been a very productive weekend, I’ve made 5 more scrapbook pages, mostly for Cal’s album, should be 7 pages, another 2 is done very quickly from Almost done pages kit, so it doesn’t really count.
Other than that, I’ve got our Christmas tree up! Yupe. This is a mini Christmas tree as it made up of the top most part of our 5′ tall Christmas tree. The rest of the tree already got rotten and thrown away, so I just made do with whatever that I’ve. I use my mom’s flower pot to “plant” the tree with newspaper beneath and just decorated with the old stuff, which only left what you can see on the tree, still I’m proud of it πŸ˜€
I’m just saving some time in taking it off.. πŸ˜€

Now it is just sat nicely next to our TV
Merry Christmas!

scrapbook page

I’ve recently started doing my scrapbooking pages about my Europe trip during my first year of study in UK. Ya.. it has been more than 10 years ago, now then when I look back into my magnetic album and found those photos badly treated, I straight away started my project with the papers that are available through the personal shopper kit that I’m subscribing to.

I didn’t put dates and names to the photos, thus it was a drag for me to find out the right dates that I’ve been traveling and also the right names for the right places. It is also through this that I found out more than what I know before on certain places. It even occured to me that I’ve been to Brussels in Belgium without realising it.. goodness! I also learn more by doing some search in the net about those places that I’ve been to. Fortunately I’ve been sending postcard to my sister during that trip, they help me to track down the time and the tour sequence.
Below are two pages that I’ve done yesterday right after work.

I didn’t use much embelishment on these pages and the red checks brads seems bulgy to me. I hope they won’t dent the other photo pages.

I’ve also hide a photo inside the wine label on my 2nd page. Basically that photo doesn’t have much to show, only the wine stand in the factory, thus I prefer to hide it away. The jornalling is something that I felt at that time, which I prefer not to be viewed by all.

I’ve also posted these up in scrapbook.com
I’ve another great news for myself, a friend is back from the US, bringing all my stuff that I’ve ordered online and got sent to him, he got me extra things too, just can’t wait to see them. Another great news is, my order from Brunei also got respond and am getting them next week, yay!! So many good news.

Gift

Got my gift, got my gift! Wanna take a look?

It is a very unique gift indeed, first time I ever see this thing and the materials that it is made from, I’m not sure what is it, but sure unique. Can anyone tell me what material is it made from? It looks like wood..

festive season

yay! we have got our Christmas tree up in the office, wanna take a peek?

Those presents underneath it are for real, those are our gifts for the git exchange. This is our tradition, every year we draw a name from our section, then buy one gift that cost at least RM15 for the one person that we have drawn.
We’ll have a feast before that and then the fun part is try to figure out who the gift is from.
Merry Christmas!
