Birthday card

It was a birthday for a friend, well more than one friends’ birthday just past, and this card is given by her sister and ordered from me, yay! So happy that I’ve got some return on what I’ve done. I wanted to re-create this card, but too bad, I’ve run out of the same patter paper came in from Studio Calico kit. Due to wallet thinness, I’ve stop ordering from Studio Calico.

So, happy be-lated birthday Francessca! (I hope I’ve spelled your name right) And I hope you don’t mind me showing your card here.

Happy Friday night!

Two challenges

Lovely paperline huh? They are all from Echo Park Sweet Summer Time PP in Scrapbook Daisies kit. I hand-sew those “bling” with some beats from my stash to make the flower centre.

So, what’s in my bag?
Wallet of course, then there are my hand-phone, car key, lipstick in the case, lip-gloss, hand lotion in sakura (love the smell), two pens! and of course the camera that I was using to snap these photos.
Two girls must have thought that I was crazy ‘cos I was snapping my handbag in a studio’s chair where they use to snap passport photos! Ha!
Hope you are having a great weekend!
Oh ya.. Head on over to Scrapbook Daisies now for they are having a celebration for the opening of the Scrapbook Daisies store.
And ya.. I’m so proud that I was using my Slice to cut those swirls, but bad news is that one of the design card which came together in the Slice package is no longer working, and it is one with Ms+, which has image, flip function! Bu hoo hoo….

LOTW

Yippiee!!! My layout was being selected as the Layout of the week over at Scrapbook Daisies, check it out here. The layout is being inspired by the sketch here.

Here is the layout that has been chosen as LOTW:

I’ve used the Echo Park kit from Scrapbook Daisies which is filled with colorful PP and cute stickers. Everything is from that kit except the two little birds which is from a previous kit.

Here is a close-up of those cute pin wheels:

Thanks for visiting and remember to subscribe to Scrapbook Daisies monthly kit.

Happy scrapping!

Palette #23

I did a layout using the sketch for Color Room Palette #23 instead of the colors:

Found this photo of little Mervin when he was just about 4 months old in an album that my FIL was keeping. So I quickly grab it back and scrap this photo. Miss those chubby cheeks and toothless smile.

Everything is from the Basic Grey page kit except the doilies. I did some fuzzy cutting from the PP and came up with the embellishment:

I’ve used some glitter stickles on the flowers and glitter pen on the pedals.

Happy scrapping!

PageMaps Sketch Challenge

Yes, I love sketches from PageMaps, it always look so neat and filled with details. Sometimes include things that I would normally won’t do on my page, such as stitching for this sketch. I came up with this:

And yes, I did sew those borders on. First line on the right was sew on by machine but after, the sewing machine gave up on me and just won’t stitch, so I had to hand sew the rest on. This is also trigger my son’s love in doing what I do and made this card which I’ve posted in my other blog.

Well.. other that it was a bit tedious to do all those stitches by hand, it turns out not bad. I had to doodle on those butterflies to make them pop a bit.

So, what are you waiting for? Join in the PageMaps sketch challenge, and you might even win the RAK above.

Well, that’s it for today. Have fun on your Sunday night!

With Scrap-a-little

First off I wanted to talk about the layout that I did for ScrapStreet using Helen’s sketch number 16.
Here are a close-up of those hand-made flowers using doilies:
I even used one big doilies for the background embellishment:
Yupe, this is my father-in-law, one who is soft-spoken and well, a bit too skinny:

I’m using Basic Grey Kioshi paper which is mostly in purple color. I’m not a big fan of purple, that’s why I seldom use purple in my layout. Purple in itself is pretty, but it is hard for me to scrap using purple color. But I think this layout turn out okay.

Next is about the layout using Helen’s September sketch, one that to me is very easy to work with:

I’ve ink those letter sticker with white ink to match with my layout and have stamp swirls on the cardstock to add a bit of interest:

I just love Martha Stewart’s butterfly punch, can’t get enough of it and yes, I’m not tire of it yet, hee..
Distressing, distressing, lots and lots of distressing for this layout.
Here is the whole layout:
I’m using Basic Grey Max and Whisker’s paper for this layout.
Both pattern paper is available in Scrapbook Daisy. And do use Helen’s sketch to join in the challenge for the month.
Check them  out!

Can’t get in

So, we were “just outside” and that became the title of my layout. We went to a local Korean Restaurant on one Sunday morning, but we were too early and they were not open yet, somehow the boys discovered the cute miniature car just outside the entrance and wanted to snap photos with it.

I did a layout using a sketch from PageMap which is being used as the Sketch Challenge #66:

Here is my take for the challenge using Max & Whiskers PP which is meant for pets!

See how easy is it to use pets’ line of PP for normal day to day layout? I’ve used my green mist, distressed ink and lots of distressing on the edges.
Here are some close-up of the layout:

The ribbon is being sewed up together first before I adhere it on my page.

Oh ya.. Scrapbook Deals 4U is going to have a new site: Scrapbook Daisy pretty soon, and I’m loving the fresh new look of the forum!

Color Combo Challenge 156 with a sketch

Did a layout using a sketch from Color Combo Galore, my first for their challenge.

And their color combo challenge:

With their instructions, it is easy to finish off this layout especially when I’ve got the right photo and pattern paper. This is what I came up with.

I’ve cut out a cute little house overlay and adhere a red PP behind, you can even see the glue dot liner on the house! Not really the kind of glue for overlay I suppose.

Probably I’m too late for the one hour challenge over at their site, but I had fun using the the Tree House kit from Scrapbook Deals 4U, you really should check out their monthly kit, it is filled with coordinating PP and cardstock, plus those cute embellishment.
