Sad news

A really sad news that I’ve just get to find out from Pamela that Coconut Scrapshop is going to discontinue their monthly kit though the shop is still open.

I’ve been enjoying their kit ever since the first one that I got, and I’ve been checking in ever so often in their forum for new challenges and new idea from the gallery. They have a very creative group of Designer, I just love going into the forum and be there getting to know them.

I guess there must be a very difficult decision to make for Jen, the owner. I wish her all the best.

I’ve actually done 10 posts with Coconut Scrapkit as label.

Addicted?

I think I’m getting addicted to online scrapbook challenges! I’ve done another two last night just for fun.
The card below is for Tamara scrapping recipe challenge:

Yes, I know it is still months away to Christmas, but I just feel like using that flower and wording from the Christmas kit of HOTP. Probably will put up for sale in my etsy shop later.

Another challenge I did was for a scrapbooking group in myspace which require to do a layout using only white, blue and green. So this is what I came up with:

I’ve used: American craft PP, Ribbon, chipboard letter thickers; HOTP PP; transparency from Coconut August kit and a 3D stickers.

I’ve a great news too, I’ve just found out that I’ve won the weekly challenge over in Color Me Daisy by doing their sketch by doing this layout!

Coconut Scrapbook August kit

Coconut Scrapbook is featuring Rose Moka paper in their August kit which I just receive few days ago. Did one layout the night before and did another one last night using the kit.

I just love those Rose Moka paper in the kit! They are not easy to use as the page itself are quite complete with beautiful design and striking color, very pretty indeed, but with the help of the kit which came with the right embellishment and also the challenge, I managed to build two pages. First one is from a sketch by Prima build-a-page.

These photos were taken in 2005 when my two friends came over to visit all the way from Hong Kong. I know then since university time and we have been friends ever since.

The journaling is hidden behind the centre photo

This 2nd one is using Coconut Scrapbooking August kit too, plus Maya Road swirl stamp, SEI granny kitchen coaster as embellishment (dotted with fabric paint on the flower centre) and Urban Lily mini book as a journal spot.

These photos were taken in 2005 when I just given birth to Mer and Cal having his early celebration of 2nd birthday. Hubby came back after I’ve delivered little Mer. This is one precious family photo that we have at that time.

Journal:
Cal 2nd birthday
Mer’s birth in July
Though it was an early celebration, but
this is a special one
with Baba around
and being a big brother.

Thanks for looking.

My belated kit

I was so happy yesterday after receiving my long waited August kit from Coconut scrapbooking. Goodness, it was a month later and now I’m using my August kit in September! All thanks to the post system in Malaysia I suppose. I don’t blame the mail system in US as I know they are much efficient than us over here. Anyway, enough of the beefing session. I have fun using it last night, and have created 2 layouts in one night! The proudest part is, I only used up 2 pattern paper!! But of course with some embellishement that came together in the kit, plus my forever helpful American Craft chipboard letter thicker! *grin*

These two photos are my long overdue pieces that I should be doing long ago, but I only found them a few days ago in a bag that hidden behind my table, well.. ya, I’m not a so organised person. Am glad I’ve found them and am glad that the kit came this time, else I would have used the kit on other photos.

There, my precious little Mer, just a few weeks old. He was even having a little smirk while sleeping!! It is a tiny baby at 2.5kg. Now he is one head shorter than little Cal.

I love doing embossing now even since I got my heating tool. So I did some embossing on the lace cardstock. I’ve used some bling on the owl body too. As I’ve run out of “S”, I replace it with a “5” instead. A very simple, unclutter layout.

Really, I’ve just used up 2 pattern papper for these two layout, plus a bit of the lace cardstock, I only used 4 raws of the lace cardstock, I’ve trim them out from those underneath the photo to make up for the 2nd layout *grin* (Stingy me huh?)

Hope to do more with the Rose Moka paper.

Oh, I’ve another happy news, I’ve won 2 scrapbook magazine from an online challenge!! This is the layout that I’ve won: Spec: silly look

More LO

First one is created for Cal’s school sport day on 7th August. He didn’t join much of the game, only one. I was a bit dissappointed, maybe next year he’ll get to join more things. I want to see how well can he be in the team. This time, he did quite well actually.

I wanted to use up all the paper from Coconut Scrapshop July’s kit. Eventhough it is Scenic Road Liberty line paper, I still can use it for non National day layout. I managed to do 2 layout using that kit again.

As for this one below, I’m using the other half of Making Memories PP which I’ve used in “Yummy yum…”. It is a scraplift from Scrapbooks.etc magazine. I’ve mix lots of other things in this LO, just thought that they are nice in the LO.

Thanks for looking!

LOs over the weekend

Wuhooo.. I’ve been really in my creating mode over the weekend, with challenges of layout, product and pictures that I love, I’ve managed to do 4 layout!

First one here is a sketch challenge in Coconut Scrapshop. (you’ll need to be a member to view the forum, it is free to be a member, go have some fun!)

This is little Cal when he was only 1-2 year old wearing any specs that he could find, including gorgles. I love the hot pink!

I’ve used: Bazzill Basic in hot pink, polka dot PP from HOTP, journal tag and heart shape flower from Urban Lily, felt flower from Queen&Co., letter sticker from Basic Grey and Coconut Scrapshop July kit chipboard letter sticker, swirl stamp from Maya Road.

This one below is for product challenge in SoCalScrap, which one of them is to use Making Memories Noteworthy PP. (There are some other products that you can use to join in the challenge, you’ll need to be a member to view the forum, it is free and they host challenges every month!)

These are my mom and my two boys in Kinabalu Park. Precious moment for me to see them so close to my mom in taking picture. I’ve adhere green pattern paper behind the felt leave and red pp behind the felt flower then use pearl gems at the center.

I’ve used Making Memories Noteworthy PP, HOTP felt flower and red PP, Urban Lily mini book die-cut, Heidi’s pink flower, American Craft letter sticker, and the red ric rac from Coconut Scrapshop July kit.

The one below is for the journalling challenge in SoCalScrap that we need to pick a phrase, jingle or song or slogan from TV. I’ve used the song relics that came out from a TV commercial recently. Seeing here is hubby with little Cal when he was just over 2 months old.

I’ve used Bazzill Basic cardstock, American Craft letter sticker, Queen&co Felt flower, Heidi’s pink flower, Making Memories NW scallop PP and some buttons.

As for the one below is a scraplift from Scrapbooks.etc magazine. I just love seeing my kids holding hands with other little kids, one is leading and the other is following. It happened at the same day in the Kinabalu Park.
The flower is actually the backing of the felt flower left over which I use buttons as the centre.I’ve used Bazzill Basic cardstock, Jenni Bowlin journal tag, left over of felt flower, American Craft letter sticker and ribbon, Creative Memories PP (love this!) and some pearl gems.
I think after this, I’m going to get more Pink, Red and Orange cardstock. They are just so nice for children layout.

Challenges and more cards are up

Have done two challenges here over in SoCalScrap, one is a sketch challenge and the other is the card challenge. (you’ll need to be a member to join in all the fun and being a member is free!)

The one below is for the August sketch challenge. The sketch inspired me to do some butterflies for my LO. These cute little butterflies are actually made from flowers which got 5 pedals. One of the pedal is being cut off and replace by ribbon tie around it. The one in the middle is actually being cut in a way that one of the pedal became the antennas.
I’ve used Bazzil Basic cardstock, American craft ribbon and chipboard letter sticker, Urban Lily journaling tag, Hero Arts clear stamp.
As for the card below, it is for the card challenge, “Either use fabric or felt on your card or do some stitching (either machine or hand stitching) on your card.” What I did was to make a felt heart and stitch the edge.
I’ve used Urban Lily polkadot mini book cover, some pink brads, ribbon and red pattern paper from HOTP, Hero Arts clear stamp and punch the edge of the card with corner puncher.
This one below is another card which is almost black and white with a hint of red and pink. I just love what my round corner punch can do for the scallope edge, and I’ve punch little holes using Making Memories eyelet punch. The butterfly is also from Hero Arts clear stamp.
The cards below are made using Coconut Scrapshop July Liberty kit which is full of Scenic Road Liberty line paper.

I’m putting all these cards up for sale in my Etsy Store, do check them out.

Coconut challenge and 2 LO

We at Coconut scrapshop are voting for the July Product Challenge now!

My submission is the “Yummy yum…” under this post. All need to be done now is to vote at Coconut Scrapshop forum. There are only two entries, one is mind!! So far the vote is very close. So maybe if you all can go over there and get yourself registered for the forum, then you can start voting.

As for layout that I’ve done, here are two, one is not done with journaling yet. First one is for little Mer when he turn 3 this year. This was taken just before sending him off to school. I’ve used a mixture of things from all over.

The blue felt is from HOTP monthly kit. White flower, pattern paper, lettering and the star chipboard are from Coconut Scrapshop July kit. Cream start from Maya Road. The tag and edge cardstock from Urban Lily bought from Scrap-n-Crop. Stamp from Hero Arts

As for the one below are made from Coconut Scrapshop July kit with American craft chipboard and form lettering. The skulls are from Coconut Scrapshop May’s kit.

My two boys were just making silly faces besides their grandfather who normally would be very strick to them, seen here not smiling.. *LOL*

‘L’ mom LO and cards

Just did a layout from Coconut Scrapshop July Kit. ‘L’ mom is the title. Yup, I’m an L license mom, one that is new and still learning.
The blue cardstock is from Bazzill Basic which I just bought from Scrap-n-Crop, so regretted that I only order one! I should have order at least 2 pieces of this blue, I love the color, it is actually a little bit purplish, darn, I don’t know what name is it now. It is just nice to go along with the Liberty line of Scenic Road pattern paper. The word ‘mom’ is form thicker from American Craft, also got it from S-n-C, it is so easy to use and flexible.

Journal:
The L license mom: Being a first time mom, with new experiences, new feelings, new responsibilities, new priority and lots of uncertainty.
With Calvin since birth.

I’ve actually did another LO using the July kit but lack of journal at the moment, will post it up once I did.

I’ve also used the left over scrap to make a card which I’m going to use it to enter for the July Card Challenge in Coconut Scrapshop.

Now I wonder how much does this card cost and how do I value them or would there be anyone who’ll buy these cards.. Another one is by pattern paper from HOTP and flower from Prima.

TFL.

LO over the weekend

Have fun using the Coconut Scrapshop July kit and I’ve finally use the lettering that came together in their May’s kit after sitting there for more than a month! I still have lots of other patter papers, stickers including letter stickers, tags, die-cut and ribbons that I haven’t used in my stash. I know some day I’ll find a suitable place for each and every single thing in my drawer.

The one below has used up some scrap left over from other LO. I just placed them behind the photos. Got this idea from Scrapbooks.etc magazine. I’ve finally found a suitable place for my velvet felt flowers too. Glad that they can blend in this LO. I still have a bit of self-criticism though. I think the number 2 should be lower a bit and let the U R be inside the circle..

Below is another layout that inspired by Scrapbooks.etc magazine. The background pp is from Autumn Leaves, the front pp is from Scenic Road that came in with the July kit. This is the first time I sew swirl in my LO. And I’ve incorporated the butterfly which is a form stamp as the apostrophe of my title.

Self-criticism is that maybe the photo together with the white pp can be in the middle of the page more.

This photo actually being taken years ago in Trincomalee, Sri Lanka when we went over to visit hubby who were working there then. This is little Cal in the picture, taking time to enjoy every little bit of things outdoor. I just love this photo, it feels a bit like those cartoon in Precious Moment.

I’ve been dreaming for a scraproom like the one below taken from Making Memories’ blog and they have shown that during CHA recently. Just love the green color and the simple setting. Could someone please buy me a room like that? 😀
