Advice

Those kits from Scrapbook Deals 4U are just awesome! I’ve been using it to make pages and pages and still I have left over from previous kits. Since I’m not buying their December kit, ‘cos I’m saving for something else ;), so I am still using their November kit, and don’t be surprise to see even earlier kit showing here.

The one below is for a sketch challenge over the SD4U forum using Kristine D‘s sketch. You can read about the challenge here.

There, my take for the challenge, which I’ve tilted the sketch and just used one BoBunny Flutter Butter PP for this layout plus some left over of the same line scrap.

I don’t even need to think of what to write for my boys, the quote that came together with the kit are just nice as their advice. And I think this lollipop flowers are appearing more and more in my layout lately, plus those distressing look. I think I’ve fallen in love with them. hehe..
Oh ya.. I’ve used those newly acquired glimmer mist from Tattered Angel. Though it is not that obvious, but the mist is definitely there at the back.
Another thing that I love is the Fiskars border punch that I bought from Scrap-n-crop, just awesome, there are so many possibilities in using it. This is one of it – as border strip.
Thanks for dropping by and do leave me some comments, love to read them.
Product used: BoBunny Flutter Butter PP, BoBunny Buttons, DaisyBucket rub-on, Fiskars border punch and some ink.

Away and back

25 days till Christmas, Day 4-7:
– Have been over to Chinese during these few days. Met up with hubby, eat eat and eat!

– I have put up the Christmas tree with the boys the night before and nothing else being decorated. Am thinking to decorate our new house later but the plan now is to move on 25th, so I’m not sure if I have the time to do any decoration at all.
-At least I get to snap some nice decoration pics while over in China a some snap shots of us using self-timer (not going to share it here).

Thanks for dropping by and happy scrapping!

Great news!

Do you all notice that I sound excited? No?

Okay, let me tell you why.

I AM OFFICIALLY IN A DESIGN TEAM!!

Yeah.. the news came in after I’ve been following or stalking this blog – Scrap A Little by Helen Croft for quite some times and tried for their DT call.

Helen does fabulous paper flowers and wonderful sketches, go check out her blog and do congratulates the rest of the Design Team members, they are:

Veronica Trias

I really look forward to be working as a DT with Helen and the rest of the DT members!

My blessings

Saw this cute sketch over in Helen’s site and wanted to give it a try.

So I did this layout last night before bed. These pictures are being taken in different time and place. I group them together ‘cos we seldom have family photos nowadays. Here I’ve tried masking (if that is the right word for it) on my butterfly using the negative of butterfly chipboard from Maya Road and glimmer mist from Tattered Angels.

Product used: BoBunny Flutter Butter PP, Tim Holtz’s distressed ink, Fiskar border punch, Maya Road Chipboard, Making Memories tiny alpha, some blings, paper tag clip and flowers from Scrapbook Deals 4U kit.

25 days till Christmas, Day 2 & 3:
– Had put up the Christmas tree with the boys, they definitely love decorating it even though all the stuff are from previous year. Unfortunately I can’t get the lights working.
– Have made another 2 cards.
– Am still thinking if I should get myself a Vorwerk Thermomix.
– The grill and roofs are all done and painted nicely. Like it!
– Still not much of a Christmas mood yet.

December daily

I’m still thinking if I should do a December Daily like Ali Edwards is doing. I did one last year and I can’t keep up with it. Anyhow, I’ve started to jot down some things that happened yesterday in point form, ‘cos I’m poor in sentences.

Yesterday was the first day for the 25 days till Christmas and what I can remember was that I met up with a friend and her mom, did more Christmas cards at night, received my parcel of goodies from Scrap-n-crop then straight away used the border punch for my cards, and the boys enjoyed those book reading time before bed-time, which to me is one of the ways to get them cool down and get ready for bed.
Today, I’m going to send out some of those Christmas cards that I made just so they are in time for Christmas for those far away friends.

Here are some of them, notice the border punch? Yup, it is new! *grin*

Product used: scrap from here and there including (which I remember) Basic Grey, BoBunny, Imaginisce, nkadinkado swirl stamp, Fiskar’s punches, We R Memory Keeper’s corner chomper, ribbon and blings.

Creative Scrappers sketch – All boys

Here is a sketch from Creative Scrappers:

Which I came up with a really blue page, well, blue and messy page with lots of inking done.
I managed to put in two lollipops flowers *grin*. I’m getting to love making my own hand-made flowers, don’t I?

I’ve distressed here and there, even the chipboard letter stickers from Basic Grey. Yup, I’ve used sand paper for that and inked it with red, brown and white ink.

Thanks for stopping by!

Goof

Wow, it has been just over 10 days that I didn’t update this blog. Other than I haven’t got a new layout to share but it was also due to the fact that I have a sick child to attend to. Yes, little Cal was down with fever and sore throat, poor kid. He has recovered now, no worry just that I need to constantly remind him to drink more water.

So, here is what I want to share today. A challenge over in Scrapbook Deals 4 U using a beautiful sketch by PageMaps. PageMaps sketch is always very neat and inspiring. I’m glad SD4U chose this sketch.

Here is what I came up with using SD4U October Delilah kit which contains mainly BoBunny pattern papers and embellishment. Yes, it sounds like a girl kit, but well, I don’t mind having those handmade flowers in my boys’ page and with those chocolate color, I don’t think it looks like a girl page anymore.
Learnt how to do those scallop punched out flowers online but forgot where the link is now (so sorry..). They are easy to make, just punch out pattern papers that you like with scallop punch, then scramble them with your palm and adhere together, then you can embellish it with button, brads, sticker or anything you fancy.

Here are some close-up of my flowers:

Happy scrapping!

Product used: BoBunny Delilah PP, buttons and stickers; Making memories journal pad, pattern paper; lots of inks in brown, distress color and black.

Mid-autumn festival

These photos in the layout has been there in my room since early October and only get to scrap them after seeing Helen’s sketch and a challenge over Scrapbook Challenges about holiday, which reminds me of the mid-autumn festivity that we had, though it is not a holiday over here.

Mid-autumn festival is being celebrated on the 15th day on the 8th lunar month, where the moon is roundest. Does that found punched out looks like a full moon to you?

Mid-autumn (Zhong Qiu) is meant for the family reunion / gathering, and children would go around with lantern. Which my kids love!
I’ve actually put some glitters underneath the buttons and that thin strip of paper is actually the left over pattern paper from border punching. And since the background is dark and I want my journal to come out, I used acrylic paint for the base.

Thanks for stopping by peeps.
Product used: Bo Bunny Flutter Butter PP and buttons; Bazzill Basic edge cardstock, American Craft letter stickers; some glitters, circle and scallop punches, and Tim Holtz distress ink.

Creative Scrappers sketch – Be There

Another beautiful sketch from Creative Scrappers:

While I was doing this layout, I was hoping that I’ve got a circle cutter for myself so that I don’t need to cut it by hand while figuring out if the circle is the right size that I needed. I’m also wishing that I’ve got some other different sizes of circle punch for the lollipop flower. Another tool that I wish to have is the distressing tool.

I’m using all things from Scrapbook Deals 4u – Flutter butter kit plus a previous kit’s letter stickers (in blue) and Making Memories journal stamp set.
While I was doing this layout in my non-usual hour, i.e. earlier than usual, my boys were there and they got so interested in what I was doing, they wanted to have a hand on those stamp set, letter stickers and ink too. Probably one day they would be a better scrapper then me. But now I’m so stingy in letting them my stash of things – my precious paper, ink and letter stickers. Ha!
Product used: Bo Bunny Flutter butter PP, American Craft letter stickers, Bo Bunny letter stickers, Prima swirl bing, white cardstock and Jim Holtz distress ink.

Lego kid

Just got my November kit from Scrapbook Deals 4U – Flutter Butter. Gorgeous kit as always that Martha put up with. I feel a bit guilty for having to cut those patter paper apart, they are just so pretty. And I’m thinking hard if I should use those stickers in the layout or in a mini album. Those cardstock stickers are great for a mini album, maybe something like a message from me to my boys about life. But I haven’t found any suitable photo yet.
So, here is one layout that I did using the kit and also a lift from Rowena Otile’s LO over at Scrapbook Challenges:

Those blocks are not from Lego, they are some blocks that hubby bought from China, but Calvin loves them and he has built cars and trucks from it by following the instruction sheet that came with it.

I’ve stick one of the round sticker on the PP, cut it out and distressed it, then pop it up using foam adhesive. I’ve also use the package backing of the Prima swirl bling that came with the kit as the mat for my photo.
As for those letter stickers, I’ve used glimmer gel pen on them, it is more visible from the side.
Thanks for dropping by and thanks for your comments.
