Are you following my site and also leaving a message on my previous post to stand a chance to get the RAK that I’ve prepared? You have until the end of the month to do so, and to participate at the blog hop layout challenge over at Scrap a little to win Helen’s RAK too.
F for family
This is one of the photos that taken during Chinese New Year, that’s why all the red color! We had a photo session without my MIL ‘cos she already went to the temple. This one was taken at home and I just love it when I can use those lovely paper from Dear Lizzy line which came in the Studio Calico kit. That kit is just filled with goodies, even those thank you tag and package backing are usable! The wood pattern that I used for the photo mat is actually the package backing for the wood vinyl, same goes to the sun pattern behind the photo, and the horizontal yellow PP is a notice tag that came together in the kit.
Here is the RAK for blog hop
Hey you all, Thanks for dropping by my site and leaving me messages. I hope you are having fun and that you’ll take some time to do a layout using those songs that the Scrap a little designers have chosen. If you haven’t been to every designer’s blog, go now and leave them a message to stand a chance to get their RAKs.
Scrap A Little blog hop
Hey there, been wanting to do this which is so fun when I join in for other sites. Yes, a blog hop!
This is our first design team blog hop for Scrap a little, it is for April’s challenge as well.
Take all of your wasted honor
Every little past frustration
Take all of your so-called problems,
Better put ’em in quotations
Say what you need to say [x8]
Walking like a one man army
Fighting with the shadows in your head
Living out the same old moment
Knowing you’d be better off instead,
If you could only . . .
Say what you need to say [x8]
Have no fear for giving in
Have no fear for giving over
You’d better know that in the end
Its better to say too much
Then never say what you need to say again
Even if your hands are shaking
And your faith is broken
Even as the eyes are closing
Do it with a heart wide open
Say what you need to say [x24]
To me, this song means to really say it out rather than keeping it ‘cos you might not have the chance to say what you need to say after wards.
I did a layout base on this song using Creative Scrapper’s sketch #97 and I’ve used other quote for the journaling which read “Those who matter wont’ mind, those who mind wont’ matter.”
Have fun!
More layouts for SD4U challenge
What I need to include in the layout is some shine / blings and paint. I’ve bling on top of the page, and as for paint, I simply can’t use my white acrylic paint that I have. So I tried out the crackle paint on the buttons. They look fine, aren’t they? I actually love the effect.
I’ve used black pen to ink the edges of the butterflies before adhering them onto the page and put some blings on their bodies.Layouts for SD4U challenges
This PP has been in my stash for a long time, definitely more than 2 years, and only now then I got a chance to use it. Those are some cute chipboard that I get from Scrapbook Deals 4U March kit. I’ve misted them with Tattered Angels’ mist in brick. Have used gel medium on some of those chipboard.
I’ve cut out those snow flakes overlay and adhere them on to the page.Brother and sisters
These are my brother and sisters during a dinner date for just the 6 of us last year. Hope to do this more often.
A sneak on what will happen
There is going to be a design team blog hop for Scrap a little. Being one of the designer, I’m in the list for your hop too. So check back in on 1st April which is 2nd April over at my site for the details and fun challenge ahead!
I am
This is an old photo of me during our annual dinner. I was wearing my Saree that I’ve get it tailor made in Sri Lanka years ago, it should be more than 5 years ago. Well, I still look Chinese in that Saree *LOL*.
I’m loving those doily that I got from the baking shop. Misting them away with my Tattered Angels mist in brick. And then making them into flowers, aren’t they just cute!? They are pretty easy to make, just mist them, then push the center together, adhere the back with some glue and embellish the center with a button. If the center is too bulky, snip off those extra paper that have been pushed up and you’ll be fine.
Oh, and I’m still loving my Slice for cutting out the butterfly which I’ve stamped and painted with some crackle paint. I love the effect.
looking back
Had so much fun over at Scrapbook Deals 4U during their 2nd birthday party recently. I get to scrap photos that I’ve forgotten about, I get to look at those photos and really think of anything else that I wanted my boys know. I get to look back at things.
So, I get to scrap this photo of my son back when he was still little, though he is still, but he is much taller now. This is for a challenge to use 5 flowers, living element and bling. I felt that I’ve distressed this layout a lot, what say ya?
