Scenic Route layouts

I get to receive one pack of Scenic Route paper from Helen (Scrap-a-little) few weeks ago and had been creating layouts using it. Those paper are super fun and pretty, plus those tags and stickers!
These are what I came up with, 3 layouts and I still have lots of paper to play with.
1st layout: (Girlfriends)
Some close-up:
A second layout: (You & Me through the years)
Some close-up:
And a 3rd layout from the same paper line: (Circle of friends)
I love how quick I can come up with a layout without much matching to do as the paper line can be used together and with those stickers and chipboard, they are fun!
Now, head on over to Scrap-a-little, ‘cos Helen is giving away this pack of paper line for Scrap-a-little first anniversary celebration, go check out on how to get there here, and enjoy what other designers has done with the pack of paper. I hope we’ll have fun together in the ning site.

The truth

Yes, sometimes a picture doesn’t tell the true story behind, it needs journaling, it need the story itself to be written. There goes for these pictures of my boys with their breakfast. They didn’t really finish off their American Breakfast of eggs, sausages, bake beans and toast. I was the one helping them with those eggs. This was during Easter morning.
I wanted to make this page as something from the news, some truth of it, thus I cut and tear out a peeping window from my cardstock and put those photos in the peeping window with lots of distressing. It took me quite some times to finish off this page, ‘cos it was very blunt initially without the doiley flower and the journaling strip.
I love how it turns out. I have even changed my mind to move those fancy photo corner cut-out from the Slice.
Product used: Studio Calico kit, Maya Road journal line stamp, Prima swirl stamp, Slice design element.

Creative Scrappers reader reveals

This is the layout that has been revealed over in Creative Scrapper’s blog for their one month long celebration! I’m so glad that I get to do a layout base upon the sketch that Kristine gave me earlier. It seems to me that mine is so far the plain-ness one among all those gorgeous layouts that other readers revealed! Anyway, I had fun doing the layout with Scrapbook Deals 4U kit – Honey I’m home.
Here are some close-up of the embellishment:
The cut out flower from the PP with some blings in the center.
A cut out of the house in the PP with foam adhesive.
Those swirls that I’ve cut by using Slice.

Happy Wednesday!

Pencil Lines sketch layout

Created this layout using Pencil Lines sketch 181 and Studio Calico kit plus my Fiskars border punch, Slice die-cut machine and doileys! Yup, another doiley flower, just love that it is so easy to make.
The story about the picture: It was Easter morning right after church, we had American Breakfast and I’ve ordered 3 sets! Which I ended up eating all those eggs in their plates. And I was trying to take a picture of us using the timer, but this is what I got. Both the boys wanted to be the first to see what the camera had taken, so they grab it before I do! *LOL*.

I’ve adhered a crochet flower from Dear Lizzy paper line and those rub-on, it can go anywhere you like!

Since those letter sticker that came together with the kit doesn’t pop up, I’ve inked it with brown ink. Oh ya, not forgetting my “Brick” Tattered Angel’s glimmer mist. Still can’t get enough of it yet.

As for the Slice die-cutting, I’m a bit worried about cutting swirls, somehow it got stuck half-way and the swirl become something else, something that I can’t use. *sigh*. Anyone of you having that problem? Is it because my removable adhesive is not enough? Or I need to change the blade?

Easter kit

But not Easter layout. Here is one that I’ve done using Scrapbook Deals 4U Easter kit and Sketchy Thursday’s sketch:

Yup, those are real bomb shell that the boys were excited to see over in Great Aunt’s place. We had a great time there right before Easter, they got plenty of green place to run around with their long distance cousin.
I definitely love those colors in the PP of We R Memory Keepers Hippity Hoppity line. Just look at the embossed stickers:
So, how have your Easter go? Mine wasn’t being filled with eggs hunting, in fact we don’t have that over here. We did went for a breakfast together though and the boys had had enough of eggs that I had to finished up their breakfast scramble eggs! All 6 eggs!
Happy weekend!
Oh ya, I’m definitely going to do more layout using this kit and using those sketches over at Sketchy Thursday. And I still have those PP from Studio Calico! So happy!

Sweet spring

Using Dear Lizzy line from American Craft plus some other PP from Studio Calico kit and a sketch from Pencil Lines to create this layout.

Those crochet flowers are just so cute, aren’t they? Here, first time ever to use pin as part of the embellishment, I hope they don’t rusk on my page.

The Studio Calico kit comes with a mini cherry stamp which I’ve used here.

This is also another photo that taken during Chinese New Year.
Thanks for dropping and happy scrapping!

F for family

This is one of the photos that taken during Chinese New Year, that’s why all the red color! We had a photo session without my MIL ‘cos she already went to the temple. This one was taken at home and I just love it when I can use those lovely paper from Dear Lizzy line which came in the Studio Calico kit. That kit is just filled with goodies, even those thank you tag and package backing are usable! The wood pattern that I used for the photo mat is actually the package backing for the wood vinyl, same goes to the sun pattern behind the photo, and the horizontal yellow PP is a notice tag that came together in the kit.

I’ve put a bit of lace from my stash in this layout and have cut those lovely flowers from Dear Lizzy PP as part of the embellishment.

This layout is done using the April sketch over at Scrapbook Deals 4U. Go have some fun with the sketch and you might just get to win something from them.
Happy Scrapping!
Product used: Studio Calico Quiting Bee kit, check out what the designers had done with the kit here.

Scrap A Little blog hop

Hey there, been wanting to do this which is so fun when I join in for other sites. Yes, a blog hop!
This is our first design team blog hop for Scrap a little, it is for April’s challenge as well.

I hope you’ve come from the right place, if you are not, then hop on over to Scrap a little and start from there, you won’t wanna miss anything and miss the real challenge for April!

The song that I picked is “Say what you need to say” by John Mayer.

Take all of your wasted honor
Every little past frustration
Take all of your so-called problems,
Better put ’em in quotations

Say what you need to say [x8]

Walking like a one man army
Fighting with the shadows in your head
Living out the same old moment
Knowing you’d be better off instead,
If you could only . . .

Say what you need to say [x8]

Have no fear for giving in
Have no fear for giving over
You’d better know that in the end
Its better to say too much
Then never say what you need to say again

Even if your hands are shaking
And your faith is broken
Even as the eyes are closing
Do it with a heart wide open

Say what you need to say [x24]

To me, this song means to really say it out rather than keeping it ‘cos you might not have the chance to say what you need to say after wards.

I did a layout base on this song using Creative Scrapper’s sketch #97 and I’ve used other quote for the journaling which read “Those who matter wont’ mind, those who mind wont’ matter.”

My son just grow so much! I still miss his chubby toddler look.
Now, let’s just choose a song and let’s hop on over to the next blog – back to Scrap a little! Don’t forget to link to Mr. Linky over at Scrap a little for your layout!

Have fun!

Edited: forgot to mention this:
If you become a follower of my blog and leave me a comment here, you’ll be entered into a random drawing at the end of April for a little RAK that I’ve put together. Will show the contents soonest.
