Favorite photos / blog posts in 2014

Merry Christmas!

It has been a great year. One that I went for 6 months unpaid leave. One that I found out I love sewing up clutches and bags. One that I’ve enjoyed.

Here are my favorite photos in 2014 which some are simply I love to see and remember..

orchid2

1. This orchid is special to me, ‘cos it was bought in remembering a dear colleague with a happy smile and who always said that he wanted to come for coffee.

you2. My favorite layout this year = “You” layout of my kiddos happy faces. I love working with Ali Edwards’ word stamps which is so versatile and a good reminder on life, on just be, on instilling positive thoughts and showing my love to my kiddos.

me and calvin

3. Birthday! August is the Birthday month for my big kiddo – Calvin. Who turned 11 this year.

card pouch2

4. This year has been a productive year for me in terms of sewing. Almost all learned through online tutorial. Including this cards’ holder and I am still loving and using it.

batik2

5. School holidays has been something that got my stressed out for arranging where my kiddos would go, but this time I managed to get them to join in the fun in Petrosains exhibition. So we went for a handicraft exhibition host by Petrosains, which we had a great time weaving up baskets and drawing batikand. love the work that was done by my kiddos.

tree clutch

6. In terms of sewing, I especially love this clutch pattern through an online tutorial. So I’ve been sewing the similar pattern and this clutch was bought by my colleague.

project life6

7. I’ve been telling myself to get back on my scrapbook pages and started creating again. So I’ve started doing “Project Life” layout. Having bought an Instax Share printer make life easier too.

Light lunch scrapbook page8. Being back to work in July means I’ll need to be in between work and being a chauffeur for my kiddos. Here we managed to “escape” for a while and have our light lunch in Breadboss, Damai. Did this layout and love how it turned out.

Well, it is almost the end of 2014. I’m glad that I’ve enjoyed my year and I hope you do too.

Scrap-it-lah December Challenge

This will be the last challenge over at Scrap-it-lah. Sadly Chow-Chow (who started the blog with Jessy) would have to give this up for her other commitment in life. So, I guess this will also be my last layout for SIL.
This month, the challenge is: to include Multi-photo layout using Christmas photos (at least 3) or, if you don’t celebrate Christmas, photos from a similar celebration (no birthdays please!).   Glitter or glimmer mist somewhere on your layout.   Traditional Christmas colours of red/green/gold (compulsory), plus only ONE other colour OF YOUR CHOICE. (Both plain and printed papers are fine as long as you stick to the colours).

I’ve used glimmer mist on my doily and flower then also using glimmer pen to draw on the larger flower. Initial color of the flower is white.

My title is from glitter thicker. I’ve also stamp on my doily after misting them.

Here is another look on those cluster of flowers from Prima.

This year, we had our Christmas tree up early even before November ended.. This is all due to my son – Calvin who was so eager to put up the Christmas tree. So I’ve helped him to set up the tree and he hangs all t hose decoration all by himself! What a great kid. He is waiting for the time to open his presents and really a good test on his patient.

Have fun on this December and try out the challenge and create something memorable for yourself. Do check out what the rest of the DTs have done on this challenge.

Some silly time

We were waiting in the parking space like usual when hubby got things to do in the bank. From this bank to the other in settling his bills. We were waiting and got nothing to do, while wasting on the petrol, we might as well off the engine, open up the car doors and let some fresh air in, what more is it more environmental free, right? So the boys got bored and they got out of the car and started doing some silly things, so I quickly grab my camera and ask for some silly poses, ha! This is what I get.
This is definitely worth to capture and recorded down. Though we had so much of these silly times from time to time, but it had been more fun with the camera and a story to tell. Hopefully when the boys are older, they’ll still laugh about it

Have pulled out my stash of doilies, Prima flowers, My Mind’s Eyes paper, Making Memories journaling pad, mist and Martha Stewart butterfly punchers, plus a swirl die-cut from MM’s Slice machine.

Would I let them do those silly pose again? Yup, definitely!
Have you join in the challenge over at Scrap-it-lah!? Go and have fun!
Happy weekend you all!

Really fast layout

Hello peeps, how are you all doing?
First off, thanks for “Like”-ing my blog, hehe.. I hope to gain more popularity, and who knows some advertiser will be looking for me :p
Most of all, I would love to see more people doing scrapbook over here in Sabah. I hope more people will come too know about this fun and really meaningful hobby which also indirectly let you find yourself along the way and relaxes your mind, inspired you to create and hopefully make us all aware of our environment, and be grateful in our daily blessings.

Here is a layout that I wanted to share – one that is really quick and come together without a sketch. I’ve just used my butterfly punches from Martha Stewart, some bling and the Lost & Found paper line from My Mind’s Eye plus those brads and stickers that came along in the great kit that Martha puts together.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you’ll “Like” my site if you’ve a FB account.

Oh.. before I forget, have you tried out the challenges over at Scrap-it-lah and Scrapbook Daisies yet? They both gain you changes to win a RAK / Kit! Scrapbook Daisies has got new challenge up today! Go have some fun!

Thanks so much and I love all your comments!

A lift – Be brave, be you

Here is a lift that I did following Kristine’s “book” layout. Her layout are all so gorgeous and I found one that I can used with my two photos of my son standing on the beach enjoying the wave.
I’ve also used the paper flower which was being taught in Scrapbook.etc. It is so simple to do and will harden ‘cos I used gel medium as the glue to glue it down on a small piece of circle. As for the retro punched flower, I’ve stamp with Technique Tuesday’s wording stamp and distress it with Tim Holtz’s distress ink. Love how the whole flowers turn out.

Oh.. how was your Easter goes? Mine is a busy day with the launch of Handprint toy library, the first in Sabah, today in Likas Square.
Hope for a great week for you all, goodnight!

First layout in 2011

I’m so glad that I managed to do my first layout this year and after that the 2nd and hopefully the 3rd one is coming.
To begin the year with an auspicious title, ha! So here is it: “Life is good”

Hopofully this new year is a really really good year to me and my family.
Am using the beautiful Basic Grey kit and some old stuff from other kit. I love how the mix and match turn out, which include pearls, doilies, glimmer mist, Teresa Collin’s butterfly, sticker and tag.

I hope you have had a great week and a fun week ahead. Don’t forget to join the Scrapbook Daisies’ blog hop.
Have fun!

Pink cheek

Here is one that I did using pink for my boy’s page! Yes, pink! Ha!
Well, who is judging?
Okay, this one is made after I’ve learn to make the scrap paper as embellishment from Paper Secret. It is a great way to use up all those scrap, you can also use it to create Christmas tree for your Christmas cards! Isn’t it great?

Here is a close-up of the heart that I’ve made with lots of paper scrap:

Since this page got lots of cute flowers, so I thought I would be good to have some butterflies, so here goes:

Let me know if you like it? I know I don’t get much respond from my follower. Or maybe you just couldn’t be bother to leave me a comment, but please do, I love to hear from you.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great Sunday!

These legs

I wasn’t in a writing mood, nor scrapping mood, or craft or being creative. Just doesn’t in that mode or mood. However I did manage to do a layout with these two photos that you been in my scrap-room quite some times: – These legs:

I’m using stuff from Studio Calico kit, not sure which month now since I’ve stop subscribing to the monthly kit now. I’ve one kit from Scrapbook Daisy which offer me another great kit from Basic Grey monthly page kit, so I’ve two and I think that is more than enough for me now. Yes, some of them are still in their original plastic bags and only a few papers are being used. I’m telling myself, eventually I’ll come to them and use them all up.
I’m also telling myself to be generous in using paper paper and supplies, so my scrap-room will have more space for new stuff.

Here are a couple of close-up shot of the layout:

I’ve used a stamp from the girls’ paparie on holiday die cuts, stamped with my Making Memories travel stamp set, using Staz-on ink. Just the way I like it. It looks like from a post-card huh?
Then I combine doily, more die-cut from the girls’ paperie and overlap them.

Cos this is a boy’s page and I was telling myself not to use flowers in the layout, that’s how it turns out. I hope doily is not too girly for a boy’s page.
Have you created anything this week? Are you intending to create card or layout? What about those Christmas Cards, have you got enough for friends and family now?
Happy Weekend!

Brave boy – Creative Scrappers

One Saturday, I had some time with this little boy after meeting his mom in giving her a mini album. When I offer to took him for a ride, he quickly grab his hat and hanky and without any hesitation, wanted to follow me, doesn’t even need his parent to be around! Isn’t it such a cutie?
I managed to snap a few shots with him in the car while on the way to pick up my two sons from art class. I know.. I may be the one who spoil the photos *LOL*
I’m using Studio Calico kit down till those small note card that came along the kit! Yes, that puppy is actually a note card saying who’s packed the kit. It was Joy who did the packing, so I’ve used it and convert it into a tag with the word “Joy ride”, isn’t it great! I amazed myself sometimes *LOL*
I’ve pop up those small embellishment to make them more dimensional and I’m loving the effect, look at this cute camera.
This page is done using CS sketch #114.

Peep, happy weekend! I know I will.

Boys will be boys

Have done another layout using Creative Scrapper’s sketch #93. It is a very simple sketch and filled with lots of possibilities. This is what I came out with using Scrapbook Deals 4U Urban Ink kit. The kit is filled with boy’s stuff!

I’ve used Tattered Angels glimmer mist on those star chipboard and it blend well with my layout, color coordinating with my DS’s jeans! Then I adhere some buttons here and there on them.

I’ve fully used up even my foil sticker backing on the layout! And am using one of the Soft Spoken stickers as the title.
Yup, boys will sure be boys.. Here, my DS is posing with his Transformer truck and look so proud of it.
Do check out Creative Scrapper’s site for great sketches.
Happy Scrapping!
