Trying out distressing and..

Learnt how to distress from an online forum, using the back of scissors! See what I came out with:
The layout above is actually for a color combo challenge by using, blue, green and brown only. I’m not sure if I’m qualify for it, but it is fun limiting myself in using only those colours plus trying out the distressing part.

Things I used: Scenic Road liberty PP, HOTP PP, some epoxy stickers, My Mind’s eye original journal tag.

Another layout is done for a sketch challenge over in Pamela’s place. This was when we were in Hong Kong Internation Airport and met up with all the 5 mascot of Beijing 2008 Olympic! How lucky we were! So photo session is a must!

I’ve convert the Olympic rings into flowers instead at the lower corner.

I’ve used Jenni Bowlin pink edge cardstock, Prima flower, American Craft letter thickers, HOTP hot pink PP and citrus flowers.

Some more work from last week

I think I’m getting addicted to online challenges in making scrapbook layout. I’ve done a page layout sketch challenge and the card scraplift challenge agian! These is maybe the 10th challenges that I’ve taken so far? I lost count. It is really a way to get me scrapping and get me started with my photos, as I get to limit myself with certain rules and placement of the photos and embellishment, I get to think inside the box sometimes, rather than let loose of my creativity and bog myself down in getting no where, it is hard to decide what to do with all those stuff that I have you know?

So, here is for Color Me Daisy weekly challenge on the sketch that they provided. I’ve used a mixture of patterned paper from different line. American Craft, Making Memories and Hot off the press. Embellishment from Maya Road (chipboard stars), Queen & Co. green felt, and the tag from a left over from Scenic Road (if I’m not mistaken), then there is this Bucks bunny that came with a shirt that I bought from the cartoon line!

I’m leaving the journal part empty, ‘cos I want to let my sis to do the writing, as these are her boys, I think she is a better person to write the journal.

(Oh.. I’ve to upload this fast to their gallery, else I’ll miss the chance.)

Next I did, or was it before that.. hmm.. I scraplift a card for the card challenge in SoCalScrap. It was so fun using the Rose Moka PP left over from my previous layout. The color is just so bright and make it a sunny card. I didn’t settle with one card, but I did two! Just fun to do so.

Here is a card scraplifted from Robin Redd’s card which she show on her online cropping class over in SoCalScrap.

Here is another one, just playing with the stripe patterned paper and the blue Prima flower. My brother said these are not cards for adult, ‘cos I was teasing him if he wants some cards to give to her friend (which I hope is a girl).

Well, I don’t care, they looks bright and happy for me *grin*

Coconut Scrapbook August kit

Coconut Scrapbook is featuring Rose Moka paper in their August kit which I just receive few days ago. Did one layout the night before and did another one last night using the kit.

I just love those Rose Moka paper in the kit! They are not easy to use as the page itself are quite complete with beautiful design and striking color, very pretty indeed, but with the help of the kit which came with the right embellishment and also the challenge, I managed to build two pages. First one is from a sketch by Prima build-a-page.

These photos were taken in 2005 when my two friends came over to visit all the way from Hong Kong. I know then since university time and we have been friends ever since.

The journaling is hidden behind the centre photo

This 2nd one is using Coconut Scrapbooking August kit too, plus Maya Road swirl stamp, SEI granny kitchen coaster as embellishment (dotted with fabric paint on the flower centre) and Urban Lily mini book as a journal spot.

These photos were taken in 2005 when I just given birth to Mer and Cal having his early celebration of 2nd birthday. Hubby came back after I’ve delivered little Mer. This is one precious family photo that we have at that time.

Journal:
Cal 2nd birthday
Mer’s birth in July
Though it was an early celebration, but
this is a special one
with Baba around
and being a big brother.

Thanks for looking.

Fav. book LO

Did a layout for the Scrapbooker’s club house challenge for the post of being their September Guest Design Team. “The theme is “Favorite Book” Create any size Layout using photos of your favorite book or reading material. You may also do a layout of yourself or someone else reading their favorite book.”

Since it has to do with something that I like to read or someone else favourite book. What I love is definitely Scrapbook and craft magazine, but I hardly take picture of them and I hardly get a nice picture of myself reading, so I might as well do a LO on my son.
Just recently little Mer were bugging me to get him a colouring book, ‘cos he saw Cal was coloring his book given by the school. So I got him this colouring book that also teaches him alphabet. He loves it! He keeps on showing me that he can read or rather he can tell what is in picture.

Since I’m going to do a LO on this and since I received my stuff from Scrap-n-Crop on Friday with the heating tool, embossing powder, stamp and some neutral cardstock. So, I had fun playing with them all *Grin*

This scallop cardstock had been staying in my stash for quite some times, I got it from Scrap-n-Crop too. As for the pattern paper, I still have some left from Coconut Scrapshop July kit and I’ve used the grungde alphabet that came together in the kit for the word “FAV”. “Book” word is from Basic Grey letter sticker. The stamp is from Hot Off the Press.

Seeing here is little Mer with his favourite book at the moment

My embossed butterflies wtih beats.

Cards cards cards

Done 3 cards last night, two are for challengs, maybe will put all in my Etsy shop.
One card is for Coconut Scrapshop August card challenge which need to use chipboard, another one is a sketch challenge in 2sketch4u.

The one below is for Coconut Scrapshop August card challenge. I’ve used star chipboard from Maya Road and swirl brad from HOTP.

This one below is for the sketch challenge in 2sketch4u. I’ve used all pattern paper, tag, flower and ribbon from HOTP Personal Shopper Chirstmas Kit. The flower brad is from Making Memories. Probably will put this one up for sale in my Etsy shop before Christmas.

As for this one below, I was playing with my stamp set that I’ve just received from Scrap-n-Crop yesterday. I was so happy to get it together with my heating tool, and embossing powder that I play with them right away! I’ve used all things from HOTP Personal Shopper Kit too, except the white flower is from Prima and flower brad from Making Memories. This one will definitely be up in my Etsy shop.

Thanks for looking and have a great weekend!

A birthday and challenge

Yup, I used for both! I did one card, put it online for the color combo challenge in Coconut Scrapshop, killing two birds with one stone.

I hope both the birthday girl and the forum board love my card.

I’m actually waiting for my August Coconut Scrapshop kit so that I can do the color combo challenge by using that kit, but it is no where near my eye sight. Same goes to my Personal Shopper Stamp Only! Kit which I’m suppose to get it last month! Fortunately kind Debbie in Personal Shopper is sending me another stamp set with the bulletine.

I’ve also purchased some scrapbook materials including a heat gun and some embossing powder from Scrap-n-Crop yesterday, hoping to see them pretty soon in my mail box. Just can’t wait to play with the embossing powder and probably I can make more cards out from it, ‘cos I’ve also bought some neutral Bazzill Basic cardstock.

Here is the card that I’ve made for the color combo challenge:

Happy Birthday Mary C!

By the way, the color combo challenge is to build a 3D project, layout or card with the 3 colors of pink, blue and green in any shades.

LOs over the weekend

Wuhooo.. I’ve been really in my creating mode over the weekend, with challenges of layout, product and pictures that I love, I’ve managed to do 4 layout!

First one here is a sketch challenge in Coconut Scrapshop. (you’ll need to be a member to view the forum, it is free to be a member, go have some fun!)

This is little Cal when he was only 1-2 year old wearing any specs that he could find, including gorgles. I love the hot pink!

I’ve used: Bazzill Basic in hot pink, polka dot PP from HOTP, journal tag and heart shape flower from Urban Lily, felt flower from Queen&Co., letter sticker from Basic Grey and Coconut Scrapshop July kit chipboard letter sticker, swirl stamp from Maya Road.

This one below is for product challenge in SoCalScrap, which one of them is to use Making Memories Noteworthy PP. (There are some other products that you can use to join in the challenge, you’ll need to be a member to view the forum, it is free and they host challenges every month!)

These are my mom and my two boys in Kinabalu Park. Precious moment for me to see them so close to my mom in taking picture. I’ve adhere green pattern paper behind the felt leave and red pp behind the felt flower then use pearl gems at the center.

I’ve used Making Memories Noteworthy PP, HOTP felt flower and red PP, Urban Lily mini book die-cut, Heidi’s pink flower, American Craft letter sticker, and the red ric rac from Coconut Scrapshop July kit.

The one below is for the journalling challenge in SoCalScrap that we need to pick a phrase, jingle or song or slogan from TV. I’ve used the song relics that came out from a TV commercial recently. Seeing here is hubby with little Cal when he was just over 2 months old.

I’ve used Bazzill Basic cardstock, American Craft letter sticker, Queen&co Felt flower, Heidi’s pink flower, Making Memories NW scallop PP and some buttons.

As for the one below is a scraplift from Scrapbooks.etc magazine. I just love seeing my kids holding hands with other little kids, one is leading and the other is following. It happened at the same day in the Kinabalu Park.
The flower is actually the backing of the felt flower left over which I use buttons as the centre.I’ve used Bazzill Basic cardstock, Jenni Bowlin journal tag, left over of felt flower, American Craft letter sticker and ribbon, Creative Memories PP (love this!) and some pearl gems.
I think after this, I’m going to get more Pink, Red and Orange cardstock. They are just so nice for children layout.

Challenges and more cards are up

Have done two challenges here over in SoCalScrap, one is a sketch challenge and the other is the card challenge. (you’ll need to be a member to join in all the fun and being a member is free!)

The one below is for the August sketch challenge. The sketch inspired me to do some butterflies for my LO. These cute little butterflies are actually made from flowers which got 5 pedals. One of the pedal is being cut off and replace by ribbon tie around it. The one in the middle is actually being cut in a way that one of the pedal became the antennas.
I’ve used Bazzil Basic cardstock, American craft ribbon and chipboard letter sticker, Urban Lily journaling tag, Hero Arts clear stamp.
As for the card below, it is for the card challenge, “Either use fabric or felt on your card or do some stitching (either machine or hand stitching) on your card.” What I did was to make a felt heart and stitch the edge.
I’ve used Urban Lily polkadot mini book cover, some pink brads, ribbon and red pattern paper from HOTP, Hero Arts clear stamp and punch the edge of the card with corner puncher.
This one below is another card which is almost black and white with a hint of red and pink. I just love what my round corner punch can do for the scallope edge, and I’ve punch little holes using Making Memories eyelet punch. The butterfly is also from Hero Arts clear stamp.
The cards below are made using Coconut Scrapshop July Liberty kit which is full of Scenic Road Liberty line paper.

I’m putting all these cards up for sale in my Etsy Store, do check them out.

‘L’ mom LO and cards

Just did a layout from Coconut Scrapshop July Kit. ‘L’ mom is the title. Yup, I’m an L license mom, one that is new and still learning.
The blue cardstock is from Bazzill Basic which I just bought from Scrap-n-Crop, so regretted that I only order one! I should have order at least 2 pieces of this blue, I love the color, it is actually a little bit purplish, darn, I don’t know what name is it now. It is just nice to go along with the Liberty line of Scenic Road pattern paper. The word ‘mom’ is form thicker from American Craft, also got it from S-n-C, it is so easy to use and flexible.

Journal:
The L license mom: Being a first time mom, with new experiences, new feelings, new responsibilities, new priority and lots of uncertainty.
With Calvin since birth.

I’ve actually did another LO using the July kit but lack of journal at the moment, will post it up once I did.

I’ve also used the left over scrap to make a card which I’m going to use it to enter for the July Card Challenge in Coconut Scrapshop.

Now I wonder how much does this card cost and how do I value them or would there be anyone who’ll buy these cards.. Another one is by pattern paper from HOTP and flower from Prima.

3 layout in a night!

First one done is about my sister who is a vege hawker which I visited on the morning before going off to Kuching recently. I managed to take a few snap of her and the vege that she is selling. While flipping through the latest issue of Simple Scrapbooks, I found this simple layout that I can follow with my 4 photos. If you have the mags, please refer to p.68,”This is classic!”

I’ve used Bazzill Basic cardstock, HOTP PP, prima flowers, some buttons and American Craft letter thicker.

The second layout is about my trip to Kuching. Since I’ve found the photoshop processing 2-up photos, I’ve develop almost all the photos taken during that trip and arrange them in just one layout.

I’ve used SEI cardstock, some tags and American Craft letter thickers.

The final one is for the Product Challenge in Coconut ScrapShop, that is to use Making Memories Noteworthy scallope circle. I filled up the holes in the flowers with different PP from HOTP, made two photo corners also from the same PP from HOTP, and journal around the big photo with silver color pen.

I’ve used HOTP PP, MM Noteworthy PP, Basic Grey letter stickers.
